LCM ss16: CHRISTOPHER SHANNON

IMG_7195

For SS16, CHRISTOPHER SHANNON got inspiration from the 90’s rave scene experienced by English Holidaymakers in Spain and the Balearic islands. The foam on the hair and wet hair looks, together with bikini tops wrapped around the neck as trophies after a `lad’s night out’ – All speaks about summertime holidays. According to the designer, “summer hedonism, Marbella frenzies and exuberant foam parties” are the theme for this collection.

Biker jackets with bal collars and two pockets, and big wide leg trousers were already introduced by several designers in the AW15 season, and for SS16 they continue to be the big deal. Slashed sweatshirts “taped-up”, deconstructed jackets – backless with an arm missing – jersey tops hung around the waist, sheer neon shirts and tech fabric short shorts, formed the rest of the collection. The black and navy-heavy colour palette was soften with white and bold neon colour blocking through some of the outfits as well as some co-ords dispersed in the collection. The clothing line will be available in a series of international stockist that you can find here.

The details of the collection came in the shape of statement jewellery made from Fluor plastic, toy whistlers and loom bands, born from a collaboration with the London-based jewellery designer Judy Blame. The sneakers sported by the models in this collection are also the product of  the third-time collaboration with CAT footwear. SHANNON redesigned and reworked the classic “walking machine” model from CAT to give it a more sportive and futuristic look, this collab will also be available for SS16 in selected international stores.
